


The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Financial Analyst is distinguished from Senior Financial Analyst in that an incumbent in the latter class manages long-term strategic financial planning, oversight of financing, investments and bond debt structuring and may supervise budget, accounting and/or purchasing staff. This position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager – Finance or his/her designee. Assigned work requires general knowledge of the functions applicable to an area of assignment and the ability to solve routine to moderately difficult problems. Additionally, this position requires ability to shift priorities based on needs.Ī Financial Analyst performs financial, statistical and management analyses that support financial and budgeting functions, programs and initiatives for the District, including cash balancing and debt service payments. This position requires the ability to interpret and apply the District's policies and procedures, and performs related duties as assigned. Creates and updates complex financial models, performs sensitivity analysis, and gathers relevant data to present for management decision making, and assist in budgetary activities. The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for preparing and communicating technical and policy-oriented reports, correspondence, and action plans. Under general direction, a Financial Analyst performs a wide range of difficult and complex financial, budgetary, statistical, economic, and other management analyses in support of District-wide activities prepares reports and performs related duties as assigned.
